The Open- St Andrews
Talk that the course record could take a battering from modern technology.

They will need to set tough pin positions to protect the course if the wind doesn't blow as looks likely.

Down to the best chipping and putting maybe.
Not going with too many:

JT Thomas 22/1
Fleetwood 35/1

ew bets.

Tiger in town. Limping badly at the JP event. How much longer can he go on? surely a Major is beyond him now. Probably the GOAT.

For the win backing Speith, Fitzpatrick and Zalatoris

EW punt on Min Woo Lee, Sam burns and Matsuyama (Skybet paying up to 14 places)

Rory too short for me, but would love him to win, Xander is clearly the form pick but 4 in a row seems a stretch, its very rare to go back to back let alone 4!

I fancy watching this as it eats up another 'blank' weekend, plus it's the only golf major that's good for me time wise. It might even be nice suny weather up there for a change.

The LIV rebels can play in this, right?

Yes they can. St Andrews have confirmed.

The PGA banned them from tour events but Open's are not included as are left to the event organisers.

Fairways burnt yellow already. With weather forecast it's going to get crazy fast.
It might frustrate a few of these big names. Might look at a couple of outsiders to add to two picks
There now saying no chance of course records.
Really looking forward to it as something different to US parkland courses we see week in week out.

I hope none of those greedy cunts win it. Multi millionaires already - why fuck up a sport with such heritage?

Tiger told 'em, and when confronted about his comments they scurry away like rats.

Poulter sinks a 162-foot eagle putt.

Wogan must be turning in his grave.

Great round by Barkley Brown (a) -4
Just missed a birdie putt on 18 for what might be first round leader

Re: The Open- St Andrews
Small flutters on bryson and dj. Neither playing well so they're big prices but could find themselves with a lot of eagle putts and kick in birdies round here

Also on Louis given his record at St Andrews, but not expecting much

More going to watch and enjoy this week

Excellent round by Rori today -6 with only one bogey.
Young with a 64 -8 was a round he'll never forget and it could have possibly been better !!!

I watched yesterdays action on hesgoals which had excellent coverage from a South African channel. Even the ads weren't too bad.
Unfortunately it's switched to Sky today and I'm having to listen that dullard Ewen Murray. Is there a more boring and holier than thou creep than him.
